Westport Marina, Westport, NY - 6/14/12

A day of chores before heading into Canada. The marina owner & mechanic came over to our boat early to look at the genset and had it running within minutes.  Seems that a loose wire on the fuel solenoid was the culprit all along.  The inverter is still another issue.  It probably cannot be fixed without removing it and sending it away so we will just rely on the genset and electric shore power when we can.  While Ricki did a boat load of laundry, I changed oil in all 3 engines.  It never fails that sometime during an oil change some of it gets away and I have to chase it in the bilge.

Cleaning the Beach
Don't know what group this is ...  but they worked really hard cleaning up the small beach next to the marina.

Bill  Craig
We all were invited to a reception/social hour at the marina restaurant sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce but elected to be with the Craig's for what might be our last meal together.  They are going to stay in the lake for a few more days while we need to push on in order to meet our girls early next month in Alexandria Bay.  Bill played his banjo for us, which he had made in his shop.

Lake Champlain

Lake Champlain
After a lovely dinner of spaghetti and wine, we retired early pooped out.  Tomorrow after a breakfast of biscuits and gravy with Bill & Joyce, we will head out for Rouse Point, NY where we will clear customs the next morning.  We are looking forward to the next few weeks of being in Canada and hopefully catch our friends again..

  1. Hi Guys, we crossed the border and I'm sorry to report that you have heard right, since we left last year we forgot how rude people are here...well, maybe it's the culture, or lack of...but prepare to be waked, Nancy waved to boaters who where passing, she had to go outside to continue waving and the only response was a blank stare...we only got one smile, etc etc. Now I remember. The boaters west of trois-rivieres are people who own boats, versus boaters east of trois rivieres who are really boaters, we hope that you will come once and see for yourself, Have the nicest trip and thanks for everything!
