Blind River Marina, Blind River, ON - 8/2/12

At 8 a.m. this morning all three boats met to discuss the weather.

High Wind
Not only was it really overcast but the wind was blowing and predicted to get even worse as the day progressed so with encouragement from my bride, along with the other two voted to stay put for the day.  We did agree to take another look around noon but did not think it would get any better.

Looking out over the North Channel
After spending a big portion of the morning trying figure out a travel plan for Quest, I walked around the marina and took a few pictures.

Marina Staff
Since due to the winds there were no boats coming into the marina, staff was catching up on chores such as pulling the floating sea weed out of the water.

Happy Hour was on Queen Kathleen and dinner followed in the marina cafe.  Another good fish meal!

Our plans for tomorrow will be to return to the USA (weather permitting) with a 40 mile plus run to DeTour Village in Michigan where we will clear customs with a phone call since we have all the required numbers and stickers otherwise it would require a personal visit to a customs station. We have a reservation at Mackinac Island on 8/6 so we have a few days if needed due to weather on Lake Huron.  We hope to work our way down the eastern side of Lake Michigan with a stop in Whitehall around the middle of the month to visit a high school friend of Ricki's who she hasn't seen since. We would like to be back home around the middle of September which can be done if the weather cooperates with us.
