It rained very hard through the night and into the early morning so we decided to stay another day and move on to Annapolis on Wednesday where we have reservation for 2 days at the Annapolis City Marina. Stan & Colleen pulled out early and headed north on the Bay.

Dry Dock Restaurant |
Ricki was having some discomfort with her knees after our walk into town last night for dinner so I decided to walk the one mile or so to the Calvert Marine Museum. My walk through this big marina took me by the marina restaurant.

Drum Point Lighthouse |
One of the main attractions at the museum is the screw pile lighthouse. This thing has a lot of space inside including 2 bedrooms and a kitchen.
|
Screw Auger |
This is one of the 4 legs that gets screwed into the ocean bottom to hold it in place.
|
Light |
A climb up spiral stairs puts you in the light area. It is amazing that such a small light can be seen for so many miles.
|
Toilet |
We have passed several lights on our voyage and have wondered what the little building on the side contained. Now we know .....
|
Restoration Shop |
Another building on the grounds housed the restoration and construction shop. Here is a bunch of guys that really enjoy their work.

Under Construction (Replica) |
We did some laundry and grocery shopping before joining Bill & Joyce (Carried Away) for dinner on their boat. They are leaving as well on Wednesday and going further up this river before heading up the bay in a couple of days.
Wednesday promises to be a nice day with very little wind so we will pump out, get fuel and head up the Bay around 9 a.m. It should be about a 5 hour run to our marina in Annapolis.
