Waterside Marina, Norfolk, VA - 5/6/12

Sunday was a day of rest for us.  We had a great brunch on the boat just before noon then just relaxed for most of the day.  Later in the day we ventured out to meet our neighbors, Bill & Joyce right beside us who are on their first trip with the Californian MY they just bought and Jeff & Linda on a really neat Pilgrim trawler.  Jeff & Linda joined us on Quest for adult beverages later.

Malfunction
While we sitting on our sundeck talking with Jeff & Linda, the dock staff had used a portable pump out machine and returned to their office right beside us to empty when it malfunctioned and showered them with product.  They were very good sports over the incident and the crude comments from us describing the results.

Quest
This will give you an idea how tight they packed the boats into the marina.

Quest

Marina
There about 50 boats here and this is just a few of them.  Quest is in the center of the picture beside the office building.

Monday is registration for the rendezvous from 2 til 5 p.m. then a social hour and dinner.  At dinner all the boaters currently on the loop will be introduced.  The last few rendezvous we had been to have had at least 250 attendees, many of which are wannabees making plans for the future.  Tuesday the seminars start along with vessel inspections by the Coast Guard and one of several looper crawls where we open up our boats for others to look at them.  This is great for those wanting to purchase their boat so they can see different types and how we prepare them for the trip.

This new blogger program is much more user friendly.  The pictures can be enlarged by just clicking on them.
