Being on the up side of the lock gave us the opportunity to take off early for Peterborough at 7:30 with only one lock today just a mile from our destination. It would be 39 miles but since we enter the large Rice Lake almost immediately for over 20 miles, it should be easy.

Peterborough Beach |
After a very pleasant ride across the lake then another 19 miles up the very narrow Otonabee River which is bordered by the Hiawatha Indian Reservation and reminded us of the St. Johns River in Florida, we started passing river homes and then several beaches.

Marina Fountain |
The marina is located in Little Lake which is just south of the Trent Waterway about 1/2 mile. This is a beautiful place and we intend to stay here until Sunday morning when we will leave without Marc's Ark and go to Buckhorn to have our props looked at since we now have a vibration. Marc & Michelle will catch us Monday evening then we will continue our journey together.

Late Lunch - Early Dinner |
Marc & Michelle met Bruce and Anne (Happy Hour) at the fall rendezvous in 2010 when both couples were "wanabees" for the trip. We were there as well but don't remember either couple from there. Bruce & Anne live in Ontario/Florida and will be joining us on our adventure until the Northern Channel.

Survivors |
Happy Hour was at 5 p.m. on Happy Hour then since we all had such a big lunch/dinner we elected to return to our boat where we Skyped the Guthrie grand kids who were all at Brian's for dinner. It was so good to see them and how big they are getting.
Well ... early to bed with a movie and the day was complete.

The area looks strange on Google Earth. Winter and lots of Ice! Didn't even see the canal.
