Glouster Point, VA - 8/8/11

The wireless connection at Glouster Point left a lot to be desired so this is actually being sent from Deltaville, VA 0ur next stop. Monday We left Norfolk Monday morning after turning in our rental car, pump out and settling up our bill about 11:30 for Glouster Point. It was an uneventful trip for 43 miles to Glouster Point and the York River Yacht Haven where we will be leaving our boat in a couple weeks for the winter.

As we were unhooking electric cords we saw this critter floating around the docks.

Then we pulled out of Waterside which has been a very nice stop. The Looper rendezvous will be here next spring which we hope to attend.

The trip out of the river was nothing but interesting. We passed many ships before getting to the Navy base.

Then we encountered this big container ship coming our way.

The next few shots are the Navy Base.

A big destroyer pulled out in front of us so we just followed him out to the Chesapeake Bay.

He turned toward the ocean and we went north.

The bay was really calm for many miles.

We arrived at York River Yacht Haven about 2:45 and met John & Barb Flint (Scoperta) who we originally met at Ft. Myers many months ago. They have completed the loop but are planning on going with us up the Potomac to DC. Dinner was really good in the marina restaurant.

Our position is: N37 15.422 W 76 28.715
