7/12/11 ....
Today was chore day. After waiting awhile to hear from our mechanic and a big breakfast, we took off to the laundromat. One would think there would be one around every corner, but no way. We drove several miles to the first one and it wasn't well equipped with several washers and only 6 dryers and there were several folks in there doing washing so it would have been a long wait on dryers. We then took off to another one listed on the GPS near downtown Myrtle Beach and it was awesome. Over 50 washers of all sizes and 15 or 20 dryers of various sizes. When we got back to the marina we decided to eat in the marina restaurant which was very neat. Our mechanic called and said he had a place in Florida that could make our part and have it to us in 2 days. Whoopee!! They will call him at 9:30 tomorrow morning with the price.
7/13/11 ....
9:30 came and went ... no call. We talked to Skip & Barb a couple times today and finally set up a dinner date. They had a rental van and came down here from N. Myrtle to pick us up and we went back to Drunken Jacks at Murrells Inlet. We finally did hear from the outfit in Florida and they will make the part and have it in Charleston, SC on Friday morning. Looks like we may be able to move on by the weekend. While walking around the marina I checked the diesel pump and it has fallen to $3.75 per gallon, the lowest we have seen so far on the trip.
Looks like tomorrow may be rainy so we will probably go to the mall or outlet stores for part of the day at least. We haven't taken any pictures for 2 days so maybe something will jump in front of us today.
