Murrells Inlet, SC - 7/10/11

Another hot day in the south. We had made arrangements for a rental car and I had to take a taxi almost 20 miles to a Sears store to pick it up. We had decided to run around today since it was a very busy boating day here at the marina plus it would give us an opportunity to explore Myrtle Beach. It has been several years since we had been here and boy has it changed.

As we left the marina we took a photo of Quest at her slip. Our first stop was going to be Drunken Jacks just a few miles from the marina for lunch.

Behind the restaurant is the marsh boardwalk that goes a long direction each way behind all the many restaurants in Murrels Inlet. This is looking south.

Goat Island is directly across from Drunken Jacks.

More of the marsh boardwalk.

There is a long pier out into the marsh behind the restaurant and I was watching ...

This little guy using fish carcass to catch crabs. He was tying them into a trap and lowering it into the water.

Our drive around the area took us to the Garden City Beach where we got fresh water and sand for Ricki's crab.

The water was perfect.

The beach was full of tourists.

We drove on up to North Myrtle Beach and around Barefoot Landing before heading back to the boat with stops at Best Buy and Walmart.

As we were leaving the marina parking lot earlier today we ran into the mechanic who will be working on the boat and he is stopping by tomorrow morning to get serial numbers from the transmission to order our parts. Hope it doesn't take too long.
