Anchorage - 7/1/11

We left Beaufort, SC this morning at 11:20 thinking we would run about half way to Charleston or 30 to 35 miles and anchor out for the night. We ended up going 44 miles which doesn't sound like a big difference until you use 8 to 9 miles per hour. After looking at anchorage "A" which was narrow and full of crab pots, we went on to plan "B" which was another 10 to 12 miles further. We are presently anchored about 1 mile up Toogoodoo Creek off the AICW. We rafted off with Lucky One in the middle facing south along with Moor $tuff and Quest dropping anchor and backing beside Lucky One facing north. With over 7 foot tides we thought this would keep us in the middle of the creek and not swing with the tide change. Apparently this worked. We did run through some rain on our way today then sunshine and rain again as we anchored. The evening cleared off for our grilled rib dinner on Lucky One.

After engine checks in the morning, we will continue on to Charleston where we will meet daughter Christine who is picking up our granddaughters who have spent the week with us. Looks like we may spend several days in Charleston to see the town.

Our position at anchor is N 32 38.866 W 80 17.628
