Georgetown, SC - 7/8/11

Our new salon A/C unit arrived this morning and was installed by 10 a.m. so we were on our way to Georgetown by 10:40.

Shortly after leaving the marina the 60% chance of sunshine turned to rain for most of the 28 mile trip. We landed at the Harborwalk Marina about 1:30 right behind a good storm that was working its way up the coast. After showers, Skip & I took a walk up town looking for an ABC store that turned out to be out of business so we came back to the boats after stopping along the way for refreshments.

Georgetown is another of those quaint places that seem so southern. The streets were parked full but you didn't see many folks on the them.

The four of us went to a really neat restaurant for dinner that was recommended by the owner of the restaurant that we ate in last night in McClellanville.

Maybe unique describes it better. The materials used looked like old barn siding including the doors. Check out the fancy light shades!

For our walk back to the marina we went to the waterfront and used the long boardwalk. Tomorrow we will head further north to Myrtle Beach even though the chances of rain continue at 40%.

Our location tonight is N 33 21.863 W 79 16.929
