My sister joined us for our last night on the water and the 66 mile run to our home Yacht Club.

We left at 8:30 a.m. from the courtesy dock at Pomeroy, OH and headed up stream.

Lock #172 - Belleville, WV |
We had two locks to go through today but our last lock was the longest wait we have had since the Tom Bigby River in 2010. We got to the lock at 1:30 and was told the lock was only opening on the hour due to low water on the river. Strange since we have gone through 13 other locks on the Ohio River and this is the first time this has come up.

We arrived in Parkersburg at 4:15 and got to the club about 4:20.

Temporary Parking |
We tied the boat to the fuel dock for a few days until we get 2 years worth of stuff off of it. We can drive our vehicles within a few feet of the boat which will make unloading much easier.

#11 - Tyler |
However ... more important than unloading the boat or driving the 20 miles home was to go across town and hold our newest grandson that is now 2 weeks old. We will come back tomorrow and start unloading.
This trip has been everything we had envisioned earlier. The best part was the neat folks we have met along the way and I am sure that some of them will become life long friends. To share this trip and experience with my bride made it even better.
Our voyage was 8,714 miles from start to finish and we went through 172 locks. Our blog has had over 50,914 views from all over the world and I hope you have been able to enjoy it with us as much as we have enjoyed sharing it with you.
This will be the last posting to the blog so appropriately I say ...... life is good !!
THE END
Glad you made it home safely, but I sure hate to see your blog come to an end, because Dianne and I have throughly enjoyed reading about your adventures and seeing all of your photos. Hope to see you around town sometime beore we leave.
